Assistant Manager - Delivery/Packing Department (3rd Shift)

Summary of Role: Assistant Department Managers are responsible for supporting the Manager in the daily operations of the department and are accountable for the employees and production needs during assigned shifts. Must be professional, honest and abide by all company policies and procedures.


Job Duties:

  • Meet department production goals/demands
  • Finish and pack all product for delivery while assuring product quality and appearance is not compromised
  • Disribute products to wholesale and retail accounts in a timely and efficient manner
  • Carry out all DOT pre-trip inspections on commercial vehicles
  • Maintain accurate DOT driver records 
  • Assist in the creation and execution of a daily “game plan”
  • Place maintenance requests for commercial vehicles
  • Receive feedback with humility and take appropriate action to correct situation if necessary
  • Continuously search for ways to improve processes and procedures to increase efficiency
  • Coordinate with Manager to assign and delegate work to employees
  • Monitor supply and inventory levels
  • Train new employees on all equipment
  • Assist with the completion of all back office procedures
  • Monitor incoming and outgoing ingredient/product quality
  • Any other duties necessary to achieve successful department operation



  • Available to work late nights/early mornings, weekends & holidays
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
  • 1+ years experience driving commercial vehicles
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a consistent basis
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist and stand for up to 8 hour shifts
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving history
  • Ability to pass DOT physical examination
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, going from one task to the other without being given direction
  • Strong sense of ownership and desire to improve processes
  • Ability to work in very hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather during delivery
  • Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
